Klas Lundström (born 1982) is an experienced writer and journalist based in Stockholm, Sweden. Reports on various topics for various magazines, newspapers, and media outlets in Swedish, English, and Spanish. 

 

A 2021 Pulitzer Center grantee (along with photographer Fredrik Lerneryd), with “Tajikistan: A Storm on the Roof of the World” — a reporting project about the climate crisis in the Pamir Mountains, in eastern Tajikistan.

 

Speaker at Pulitzer Center’s 2022 conference “Interconnected: Reporting the Climate Crisis” (Washington D.C., June 9–10, 2022).


Has followed up the 2008 debut as an author ­— with "The Amazon: Reporting from the Lungs of the Earth" — with some another ten books: e.g., about Timor Leste’s journey from an Indonesian colony to a de-facto UN-ruled state; U.S. energy policy and uranium mining; the gold rush in Swedish nature reserves; life in Latin America’s most isolated zones; and Indonesia’s leap from the dictatorship of Suharto to a regional geopolitical power player.

 

Frequently collaborates with Fredrik Lerneryd — they have besides Tajikistan reported from Mongolia and Paraguay. Their first book — “Dzud: Climate, Coal and Cold in Mongolia” — was published by Rongo Publishing, in 2020.

Klas Lundström (född 1982) är författare och journalist baserad i Stockholm. Samarbetar med medier över hela världen och artiklar och reportage publicas på svenska, engelska och spanska.


Mottog arbetsstipendium från Pulitzer Center (tillsammans med Fredrik Lerneryd) för projektet ”Tajikistan: A Storm on the Roof of the World”, om klimatkrisen i Pamirbergen, i östra Tadzjikistan.


Talare vid Pulitzer Centers journalistkonferens “Interconnected: Reporting the Climate Crisis” (Washington, 9–10/6–22).


Samarbetar återkommande med fotografen Fredrik Lerneryd och tillsammans har de förutom Tadzjikistan rapporterat från Mongoliet och Paraguay. Deras första gemensamma bok – Dzud: Klimat, kol och kyla i Mongoliet – publicerades av Rongo förlag 2020.


Har följt upp författardebuten 2008 med reportageboken Amazonas: Reportage från jordens lungor med över tio böcker, bl.a om Östtimors väg från koloni till FN-stat, USA:s energipolitik och urandrift, guldrusch i svenska naturreservat, Latinamerikas isolerade zoner och Indonesiens språng från Suharto till en regional stormakt.

Klas Lundström (nacido en 1982) es escritor y periodista experiente. Escribe frecuentemente para varios medios globales en sueco, inglés y castellano. 

 

Un becario del Pulitzer Center en 2021 (junto con el fotógrafo Fredrik Lerneryd) con «Tayikistán: una tormenta en el techo del mundo», un proyecto de reportaje sobre la crisis climática en las montañas Pamir, en el este de Tayikistán.

 

Fue uno de los ponentes durante la conferencia 2022 del Pulitzer Center «Interconectados: Periodismo sobre la crisis climática» (Washington D.C., EE.UU., entre el 9 y 10 de junio de 2022).


Ha seguido el debut de escritor en 2008 –con «La Amazonia: Reportajes desde los pulmones del mundo»– con otros diez libros: entre ellos sobre Timor Leste y su viaje de ser una colonia de Indonesia para convertirse a un estado de facto gobernado por la ONU; la política energética de EE.UU. y su extracción de uranio; la fiebre del oro en las reservas naturales suecas; la vida en las zonas más aisladas de América Latina; y el salto de Indonesia de la dictadura de Suharto a un actor de poder geopolítico regional.

 

Colaborador recurrente de Fredrik Lerneryd; además de Tayikistán, ellos han publicado reportajes desde Mongolia y Paraguay. Su primer libro juntos –«Dzud: clima, carbón y frío en Mongolia»– fue publicado por Rongo Publishing en 2020.
